Cardiff-based potter Jack Welbourne creates this weighty mug in his studio, which is in a courtyard that is home to many makers. He studied pottery in Plymouth and has now been making pieces for 12 years. Hand-thrown exclusively for TOAST from iron-bearing clay, with a pulled handle. Finished with a celadon ash glaze and iron oxide motifs. Each varies slightly in shape, pattern and glaze tone.
